I am  a writer of memoir and essays.  

I obtained my PhD in African American Literature from Harvard University in 2013. I specialize in making meaningful connections between various modes of entertainment and past and current socio-political movements. I foster interdisciplinary ways of thinking, looking at contemporary events and showing their important relationships to history and literature.
